Oh my gosh this was the cozy, carb heavy, post I needed and your decorations are LOVELY! Okay. I am a person who lets my kids in the kitchen and I think it’s because my parents let me in the kitchen as a kid and that’s a significant ingredient (ba dum pa tshhh) in my love for the kitchen as an adult. I don’t let my kids help all the time and they do drive me nuts at least 75% of the time BUT my four year old can crack and scramble eggs, chop fruits and veggies, measure ingredients and stir at the stove. I actually got her Molly Yeh’s cookbook for Christmas. We love to watch her cooking show in the mornings. I’m starting to see the fruits (AGAIN WITH THE PUNS) of letting them in. A lot of times I’ll pick a recipe I know they’ll enjoy and go into it with the mindset that we’re doing it together and it won’t turn out perfectly. They really like to bake.
Ok this was super encouraging honestly!! At some point I just need to let them help and be ok with the fact that, like you said, it won't turn out perfectly. New years resolution perhaps?! Haha. Also, your puns were bananas! (Does that count? lol)
Oh my goodness, your orange & bell hangers make me SO happy!! Thanks so much for your kindness...it's so lovely getting to connect with you here. :)
Kids and baking: I'm still trying to figure that out. 😂 Besides testing my control issues, kid-baking usually results in bickering amongst the littles...who gets to pour what into the bowl, etc. My hope is that it'll be less intense if I keep at it with them, but in the meantime, I just sneak in most of the baking solo. ;)
Haha yes I have the same experience—control issues (me), arguing (my kids), grabbing spoons from each other until batter is flung all over the kitchen (all of us).... ah. Here's to solo baking for now! And thanks again for the great oranges/bells idea!!
Okay, ‘miracle no knead bread’ is the exact bread recipe I need in my life--THANK YOU. Wishing I could transport myself to your fair to buy some energy bites but for now, this bump pic is just as delicious. You are popping!! 🤩🥰
I have always been super intimidated by homemade bread, but I am going to try that recipe you shared. Thank you!
Oh that makes me so happy! I hope you love it! If I can make it then anyone can ;) haha
Well, I have messed up even no-bake desserts, so the bar for me is really low. Ha!
You can do it! Report back ;)
