"One day I know these memories of my boys’ childhood will fade and blur, just like those underwater pictures I took in our neighborhood pool as a kid. But maybe that’s ok." Yes, absolutely. And I love that Toni Morrison quote you shared!

It’s so hard to accept that sometimes! I’m like why isn’t there some foolproof way to save these moments forever?! And I’m glad you loved the quote :)

Yes - that Toni Morrison quote really resonated; helps remind me that beauty itself is enough, in and of itself, when experienced in the present. A good reminder that if i don't have perfect childhood pictures, it doesn't mean things didn't happen.

For some reason, it draws to mind what Marie Kondo wrote about letters (once you've read it, it has served it's purpose, you don't need to preserve all cards for posterity).

Yes 100% agree, Shannon! It’s like that “if a tree falls and no one hears it” thing… if something wonderful happens and no one takes a picture of it, did it really happen?! Which is so silly it’s like yes of course it did. But sometimes I forget that ;)

Ok I’ve never heard that about the letters but it really resonates!! Thanks for sharing ❤️
