Hello and happy March! The boys are wondering why we haven’t built a snowman yet this year, and honestly, so am I. But I am certainly not arguing with longer days, warmer weather, and daffodils bursting from every crevice of the earth. Pure springtime magic.
Below are some ~things~ as of late. Although if you must know, I have mostly been trying to squeeze in rest while the boys play with Magna-Tiles and listen to their Toniebox. Welcome to the last few weeks of pregnancy!
Writing: I was so grateful to have this prayer published on Mothering Spirit last week. Aside from that, most of my writing has consisted of hastily typed stream-of-consciousness stuff on Google docs!
Reading: Literally anything Madeleine L’Engle has written. I started with re-reading A Wrinkle in Time, one of my childhood favorites, and from there the obsession snowballed. I love her writing! It’s easy to read but somehow still feels complex and full of meaning.
Listening: The Lion King soundtrack, which we checked out from the library and will be renewing over and over again until the end of time. The boys are super into it and I have to admit, I Just Can’t Wait to Be King is a *jam.* In non-kid-music news, Josh and I had a fun date night recently at The Brook & The Bluff concert!
Wearing: Still wearing these maternity leggings, usually paired with an oversized sweater. As far as footwear goes, I’ve been taking particular delight in wearing socks + white slip-on sandals. (I have never claimed to be a fashion blogger.)
Watching: Abbott Elementary on Hulu. Josh and I love this show so much! The dynamic between Barbara and Janine is my favorite.
Eating: I wish I had a great recipe to share here, but we are pretty much just rotating all the old faves for dinner—taco bowls, crockpot bbq chicken, stir-fries, etc. I’ve still been baking bread about once a week, and I also made this dirt cake for Kyeler’s treasure-hunt-themed birthday party!
Well, we are officially on Baby Watch over here and I am so excited. And nervous. And all the other topsy turvy emotions you can probably imagine! The next time you hear from me I will most likely be in the wild west of postpartum life, with a precious sleeping babe on my chest.
See you on the other side!
